Updates

Well, with only about three weeks left until the baby comes I figured it was about time for an update. So first we'll start with a baby update. Things are going great. I've started going to the doctor every week now. I (like most other pregnant women) am hoping for the baby to come a little early, but I am preparing for the worst. :) We definitely don't want him to come too early though because Bryce will be gone for a few days interviewing at Idaho State. I will admit as the weeks fly by I get more and more nervous. We are just hoping everything goes well and the baby is born healthy and safe and that we can all adjust well. We are still negotiating names. Spencer's vote right now would probably be Mario (which I will explain more about later). So it's a good thing we're not really including him in the decision making.

And because I have no shame and Spencer looked so handsome in the pic I am posting a final belly picture. I can hardly believe I have 3 more weeks to grow! I am pretty sure I wasn't this big with Spencer so we're hoping it's not going to be a 9 lb baby or something. :)

Now onto a Spencer update. I am almost afraid to have the baby because Spencer has been doing so well lately. For the most part he is a perfect child. :) We're just trying to enjoy the last few weeks before our schedule is turned upside down.

His favorite thing to do is probably watch daddy play MarioKart...er, I mean play MarioKart with daddy. :) And it's probably Bryce's favorite thing too. It's hard to pull both of them away from it after they start. But Spencer asks me to play Mario all the time! The other morning I went to get him from his room. I peeked in and he was sitting up in his bed. He looked over and smiled at me and said, "Mario?". Although we don't play that often it is still on his mind a lot.

Spencer also loves to help me in the kitchen. He loves to help make dinner, and I usually try to let him help if I can. One night we made some puppy chow and then some chicken enchiladas. I let Spencer play with the extras and it kept him entertained for about 45 minutes!

Here is a video of his delicious concotion. He was really into it the whole time. It got a little messy, but that's what makes it so fun right?

Spencer also loves to play with his cars and trains. He is getting really good at playing on his own, which I'm sure will come in handy when the baby comes. He loves the train mat that Grandma Barbara got him for Christmas. Below is a video of him playing with it. It is pretty long and probably boring for most, so watch at your own risk.

(the video isn't working right now... )

I added this picture of Spencer mostly for Aunt Jenny. One afternoon he got into his drawers and pulled this shirt out and wanted me to put it on him. He really never has any say in what he wears but the only shirts he will request to wear when he sees them are his big brother shirt that I made for him and the shirt he's wearing in the picture that Aunt Jenny bought him. I figured she'd be so proud. :)

We are really into books lately. Spencer loves reading stories and looking at his books. He has many favorites. He has discovered how to set up his favorite train book into a circle. He usually makes daddy do a dance inside the book with him. In the picture below he's just having one of his froggies eat the book.

One of Spencer's new years resolutions was to do a little more exercising. He's discovered he has muscles and that he wants to make them stronger. So he and daddy have been on a pretty strict exercise routine. Below are a few videos of their workouts. Spence still has a little work to do on his form, but he's seen definite improvements in his abs and biceps.

My favorite part of the last video is Bryce at the end. We will give him a little slack because he has been pretty sick and even had one of his ear drums pop because of all the pressure in his head. Usually he's much more disciplined during their workouts. :)
