It's been six months already! We took Owen to the doctor this week for his check up. And he is healthy as ever. He weighed in at a whopping 19 lbs 4 oz!

His personality is really starting to show more and more. He for sure has his moments. I think we are already seeing a little stubborn streak in him! But he is a sweet and happy little boy and we love him tons.
Owen has reached some new milestones lately. He is now....

...sitting up on his own! And he's getting better and better. Now he usually never falls down unless he's pushed by his big brother!
And we have finally started him on solid foods. He did not like it at first. He would gag and everything. But I learned that if we just kept going past the first few bites he eventually got used to it and started liking it. And now he does great. He eats rice cereal in the morning and a vegetable at dinner.
I would love to say he is also sleeping through the night...but we're working on that. I am just hoping that soon he'll just be waking up once every night. We'll see how that goes. If I remember right, Spencer woke up around 4am every night until I stopped nursing him which was when he was about 1. So that's all I'm shooting for with Owen. He is also still swaddled during naps and at night. We've got to get that under control too.
A few other things about Owen. He loves his big brother. Most of the time anyway. :) He does get a little upset when Spencer takes his toys. And when he gets pushed over. But it is really fun to watch them together. Spencer is really a good helper with Owen. I had cub scouts the other night (yes, I am a cub scout leader now! preparing me for the future I suppose...) and Bryce was at home with the boys. He said Owen was just on the floor most of the time and he didn't really have to do anything for him. If he started crying Spencer would come give him a toy or put his binky in. Spencer is also really good at making Owen laugh. Here is an example:
I actually have quite a few videos of Spencer making Owen laugh. It happens quite frequently. Especially during meals when I am pretty sure Spencer is trying to get out of eating his food.

In August we got together with all of my family for a little reunion in Kansas City. It was a lot of fun, and probably deserves it's own post. Hopefully I'll get to that sometime. But anyway, we took some family pictures and here was a shot my mom got with her camera. Bryce was underneath him and did catch him. No need to worry. :)
